Underwater World Sea Life Launch

On Thursday evening December 19th 2013, Underwater World at Mooloolaba on Queenslands' Sunshine Coast welcomed invited guests to celebrate the completion of  a two year  $6.5 million upgrade  and rebranding of this major regional attraction. It will now be known as Underwater World Sea Life Mooloolaba.

 Underwater World has joined with a global network of 43 Merlin Entertainments owned Sea Life aquariums with  a focus on conservation. This will give staff  access to research and expert knowledge which will  be invaluable in their mission to showcase and protect our marine life.

 Since purchasing the aquarium,  owners Merlin Entertainments have  added five new zones in all and introduced new species. Thursdays' launch unveiled the largest jellyfish exhibit in Australasia. Several hundred jellyfish representing five different species are now on display in Mooloolaba. Visitors can view sea nettles, upside down jellies, blue blubbers, comb jellies and moon jellies.

 Merlin Entertainments'  investment is a great show of faith in our region and  has provided yet another reason to visit Queenslands' Sunshine Coast.
